Opening of the Beaches

Today was the annual "Opening of the Beaches" parade. We rode bikes down & watched the parade. The floats would throw candy to the kids & the Shriners passed out American flags. Holly did not want the parade to end! Brooke kept asking if Mickey & Minnie were going to march in the parade :) It was super hot today!
Brooke getting some more candy....I swear I finally just got rid of all the Easter candy & now I have a ton more.

New playground

Since Grandma & Grandpa have this great big yard at their new house, we had a playset put up this week. The girls couldn't wait to see "Grandma's playground" & loved every bit of it. It came out really cute. Brooke LOVES the little mailbox & door bell. I think they will get lots of hours in on that thing!

Fighting over who gets to go down the slide first.

Brooke in the playhouse. She looks like she's in jail. If only the door had a lock on it..........just kidding (sorta)

Happy Birthday Grandma!

We got to spend Grandma's birthday with her this year. The girls are always happy to go to Grandma & Grandpa's house but today they were so excited to help Grandma open her presents and eat her cake (and see their new playground)!

Brooke & Sammy

Brooke takes advantage of every opportunity she has to squeeze the daylights out of Sammy. He just keeps coming back for more.....

He looks so relaxed....HA!

Swimming lessons have begun

Brooke started swimming lessons last week. This is just a refresher course for the Infant Lifesaving Swimming she has taken for the past two years. She screamed bloody murder the 1st day and hasn't cried since. She's doing really good.

Go Anne Go!

Anne had a softball tournament at the beach Saturday so we all went up to cheer her on. The girls mostly played in the dirt & were FILTHY but had fun.

Here she is hitting a perfect bunt. (I can't believe they bunt at this age!)

First trip to the beach this year...

Saturday was really nice out so we went to the beach. The girls spent most of their time digging in the sand. The water was way to cold. It was soooooo nice to be able to lounge a little at the beach. I've been waiting 5 1/2 years to actually be able to sit down at the beach and not chase kids! :)

"She wore an itsy bitsy teenie weenie yellow polka dot bikini" :) (well - I don't know about the "itsy bitsy" part!)

Disney Princesses on Ice

I took the girls to see Disney Princesses on Ice last night. They had a great time. Brooke and her friend Laney absolutely LOVED it.

Before the show you could go see all the Princess dresses on display

I guess this is what Dad's do when they are forced to go to see Princess shows. This dude was cracking me up - he slept thru the the first half.

Dr. Lofton

This is their new game. Brooke gets into bed and does 100 pretend sneezes, then Holly rushes in with her Doctor kit to check her out. :)

You'd look at this picture and think they actually got along!!!!!

Riding her bike

Brooke has now moved on from her tricycle to riding her bike. She does pretty good but only rides about a block & then ditches her bike (to run & play) leaving us to push it home.

Bye Uncle Dave

(This post is out of order)
Uncle Dave flew back to Minnesota last week. Brooke saw this picture today & said "That's Uncle Dave...I love him!" Which is funny becuase she absolutely refused to get in the picture. We were glad we were able to see him!

Back to the zoo...

I really need to invest in season passes to the zoo since it's one of Holly's top 2 favorite places to go! She is on Spring Break this week so just her and I went to the zoo. She knew what animals were in the cages before we even got to them. I think she has the whole zoo memorized. We had a great time and it was a beautiful day.
